I'd take more of her FMAB personality over the FMA03 crafted one. In Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Lust is an assassin, powerful fighter and a frequent leader of other homunculi.
#LUST FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST ASAMI PLUS#
Plus she has a fun coquettish glee about killing and toying with her victims. Their similarities were completely unintentional, but Bryan Konietzko embraced it in. I personally love that FMAB Lust was a formidable threat who died proud of being a homonculi and put up a badass fight. Asami Sato is not a visual Shout-Out to Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist. I hate the quasi-romance aspect they shoehorned in with her and Scar and the writers thought it was so important they highlighted it in CoS and the Chibi OVA. Not to mention that what little we know about the woman she once was is only "beautiful" and "kind" and that Scar and Scar's Brother both were head-over-heels for her. that just feels weak and predictable to me.

I honestly wasn't crazy about her in FMA03, it seems cliche to give the most prominent female villain a character arc that revolves around her just being mislead into being villainous and really she's emotional and wants to be human. I think it would've been cool had she lived longer in FMAB/the manga.
